“Coach Dale, I just wanted to pass along a big thank you for your work with Max. I have watched him during football evaluations, and he looks like a different kid when it comes to footwork, agility, and speed. Heck, he was even shining on the 40 yd dash.
Last night, I received a call from one of my friends, who is involved in the football league, and he wanted to let me know that he saw Max practice, and was impressed. He also said that the coaches of our local travel team were mentioning that Max was becoming a real stand out and will likely have him on the list for a call back.
Considering he didn’t make the squad last year, this is a huge improvement. His confidence is up, his skills are up, and I think this is in no small part to your coaching and involvement. Chuck – parent
“ Dear Coach Speckman: My 2 high school boys started their hitting sessions last night. Thought you’d like to know that both not only SAID they felt stronger than last season, but that the change was actually NOTICEABLE in their cage work, as well. Part of it is just maturing physically, of course, but I think they are also both stronger through their trunks and look to be better able to actually transfer that power to their hands. That’s a function of what you’re having them do. When you watch as many high school kids hit as we do, you realize that only about 20% of them have figured out how to engage their core muscles and bottom halves. They don’t have the feel of how the torso and legs are supposed to work in a baseball swing. You’d call it “kinesthetic awareness,” I imagine. Obviously they still have to anticipate the ball path and speed, swing where the ball actually IS, have good mechanics, and do all that other stuff that makes hitting so hard. But what you’re doing with them will certainly help the ball carry and find gaps when they do swing in the right place! Whatever you’re doing, you’re definitely on to something.
We are particularly grateful for how you’ve helped our Junior get ready for college baseball. When he started working with you he really wanted to improve both his arm strength and his foot speed. As a high school sophomore, he might have graded out 2/5 in both categories relative to college players. Now he has improved enough in both areas, and in his ability to hit for power as well, that more than a dozen college programs have been in touch. And he still has a year left to improve. At the level of baseball he wants to play, we’re talking about the difference between simply making a college team and actually coming in and getting a chance to play early on. If he keeps working with the concepts you’ve taught him, there’s no reason he can’t continue to get bigger, faster, and stronger throughout his college career. I know he’s excited about the possibilities, and so are we.
Thanks again for all you’ve done with both boys at Athletic Revolution. The progress is noticeable and they really enjoy the session work. -Mark and Carly – parents
“Coach Dale, David is the only freshmen among all of the sophomores who start on the offensive line on (his high school) JV team and he loves it! I know that is largely due to your influence, work and belief in him. So I thank you!” Janet & Rich – parents
” Coach Speckman, I just wanted you to know that Matt has done very well in track this year. As a matter of fact he qualified 1st in the 200 yd dash and 2nd in the 100 yd dash at a city CYO meet. A lot of people have said “we didn’t realize Matt was that fast” and I say he wasn’t until he did speed classes with Dale Speckman. I remember a couple of years back when I referred to Matt as a turtle, now he seems to have turned into the hare. I just wanted you to know that he owes a lot of this to you. He is a determined kid, but he needed some technique/guidance. Anyway KUDOS to you – we think you run a great program and Matt has certainly benefited from it.“ Anne - parent
” Dale, I am not at all surprised at your success based upon what we have witnessed with your work with our son Charlie. You have now been working with Charlie off and on for about two years. It has not always been easy getting him to you with his participation in several sports. Now that we have been able to establish a regular regime the results are very evident and wide ranging. Anyone that knows Charlie obviously sees the changes in his physique as well as weight gain. Having said that, the area of improvement that I most appreciate as a father is his increased level of self-confidence which I attribute to the direct result of working with you. He has more drive to improve and to achieve excellence. Charlie has not only benefited physically from working with you but also socially as he has become a more mature young man. Confidence breed’s success and Charlie clearly is the beneficiary of that. In closing Dale, I know the reason that Charlie and many other of your students are excelling in their own ways is quite frankly you. Charlie has a very deep respect for you as a coach and mentor. He wants to work hard for you in the worst way. I think that is a testimonial to your ability to connect with kids on their level. I obviously recommend Athletic Revolution to any parent that has a child interested in becoming faster, stronger and most importantly becoming a better young man or woman all around. ” Jim – Parent
